Good cleaning is the foundation to great brewing!
GENERAL CLEANING
Alkaline Cleaners
Alkaline cleaners like Powdered Brewery Wash (PBW) by Fivestar and Alkaline Brewery Wash from Craft Meister are favorites of small home breweries because it out-performs dangerous caustic chemicals without scrubbing. Just put your kettle, bottles, carboy, etc. in for a good long soak and watch dirt, krausen and any other organic material simply rinse or wipe away. Will not corrode soft metals.
We also offer no rinse oxygen cleaners, these work as good as any alkaline cleaner with the added benefit of no-rinse hard surface cleanser designed for brewers and wineries. Contains no chlorine, which can leave a film on glassware and corrode stainless steel. Requires two minutes of contact time, no rinsing required! Environmentally friendly and non-toxic.

Sanitizers
You have cleaned everything, now you are ready to sanitize. Star-San and Sani-Clean are two great products by FiveStar. These are acid based sanitizers, Star-San is a foaming sanitizer (don’t fear the foam) and Sani-Clean is a low foaming equivalent. Made from food-grade phosphoric acid, safe for people and the environment.
Alternatively if you are looking for an effective low foaming sanitizer that is also easy on the hands, Iodine-based Iodophor will do the trick. No matter the sanitizer of choice, if you follow all manufacture guidelines you will have great results.
